The New Tech Pilot Program of British Columbia invites 95 immigrants

British Columbia invites 2535 applicants so far in 2021.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program invited 95 applicants from two categories- Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration. The inviting applicants from the sub-categories from the Skilled Workers and International Graduate on March 23.

The British Columbia announced that they will be extending the Entrepreneur Immigration Pilot Programs until March 31, 2024.

 Tech Pilot Program-

The Tech Pilot Program came in May 2017. It acts as a fast-track immigration pathway for skilled workers who have tech skills and wishes to become permanent residency.

Applicants are required to register in one of the present British Columbia provincial streams and have a valid job offer of at least one year in one of the Tech Pilot`s 20 eligible occupations.

They are required to create a profile and register in the online portal of British Columbia`s Skills Immigration Registration System.

 The SIRS is a point-based system that gives benefit to candidates in getting the nomination. They are ranked on different human capital factors such as years of work experience, education ability, language proficiency in English or French, etc.

In concluding, the Tech Pilot Program aims to invite immigrants who have in-demand skills in tech occupations. It is to do so that they can be a part to increase the growth of the tech sector’s growth in the province.

Entrepreneur Immigration- Regional Pilot

The Entrepreneur Immigration Pilot Programs is to invite immigrants to establish a business while partnering with the regional communities of less than 75 000 people to approve the start of a business in the province.

Candidates must locate 30 KM from the population to be enrolled for the pilot.

The applicant must complete a visit to the site to set up their business and obtain a community referral before registering for the pilot.

The province can provide a nomination for permanent residency.

The expansion of the business sites will ensure productivity-increasing the economic and cultural growth of the province.
