Nova Scotia Points Calculator 2020

Nova Scotia Nominee Program has its ranking system which allows and manages the profile of the candidate through the Express Entry System for the provincial nomination. You will receive 600 CRS points if you get a provincial nomination and an ITA to apply for Canada PR Visa.

The two categories under the NSNP are-

  • Applicants who have a full-time job
  • One year of experience in the last ten years

Nova Scotia Express Entry

To qualify for the Nova Scotia PNP Express Entry Stream, candidates must meet the following criteria –

  • Vail Express Entry Profile
  • Score 67 points or more in the required factors
  • One year of work experience in a skilled occupation
  • A Canadian high school credential
  • Language proficiency skill test
  • Proof of settlement of funds

The candidate has to score 67 Points out of 100 for the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) and to have an Express Entry profile.

Educational qualification – 25 Points (maximum)

University degree at the Doctoral (PhD) level 25
Master’s degree or equal from a university OR entry-to-practice professional degree (or equal) which is NOC 2016 Skill Level A, and licensed by a provincial regulatory body 23
Two or more Canadian post-secondary degrees or diploma or equal ( at least three years) 22
Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a program of three years or longer 21
Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a two-year program 19
Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a one-year program 15
Canadian high school diploma 5

Age- 12 Points (maximum)

Applicants having the age 18-35 receives the highest point of 12.


Employment Points
Working on an LMIA on the in-demand job occupation of level 0, A, or B 10
Working on an LMIA exempt work permit 10
Authorized to work in Canada 10
Has a valid work permit but not in the above two situations 10

Adaptability – 10 Points (maximum)

If the applicant relative or kin is accompanying them in Canada, they will receive 10 points.

Language level of kin for CLB level 4 or higher 5
Candidate’s past study in Canada: Must have completed a minimum of two years of academic years of full-time study at a secondary or post-secondary school in Canada 5
Relative or kin`s past work in Canada: Spouse’s or partner has completed a minimum two-year academic year of full-time study at a secondary or post-secondary school in Canada 5
Candidate’s past work in Canada: Minimum of one year of full-time work experience in Canada 10
Relative or kin`s past work in Canada:
Spouse/partner had a minimum of one year of full-time works experience in Canada on a valid work permit or while authorized to work in Country
Arranged employment in Canada 5
