COMPREHENSIVE RANKING SYSTEM (CRS) TOOL 2020
What is the Comprehensive Ranking System?
In 2015, Canada introduced a new immigration pathway – Express Entry Program for candidates who applied for Permanent Residence (PR). Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a tool score that evaluates the profile of the candidates for Canada PR. Each candidate has to qualify for the maximum score for Canada PR; several factors consider the eligibility of the candidate such as-
- Human capital factors – Work experience, Language proficiency, age, Educational Qualification, etc.
- Common partner factors
- Additional factor
- Skill transferability factor
There are around 1200 points that determine the Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) based on various factors. It is mandatory to have your IELTS test score to get the true result of your eligibility for Canada Immigration.
How does the CRS calculator help you for Canada PR?
CRS is beneficial in determining your eligibility for your visa application, managed by the Federal Government of Canada. Express Entry manages three programs-
- Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
- Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
- Canadian experience Class (CEC)
What’s the next step if you are eligible for one of the three programs?
Once you have attained a qualified score in CRS, then the next step is to get your IELTS and ECA and create an Express Entry profile. Once you have created the profile, you get registered to Express Entry Pool and if your CRS score is the maximum of all the applicants then you are eligible, thus you have to have a high score for a higher rank.
What happens after you join the Express Entry pool?
The Express Entry pool is issued by IRCC through regular draws. If you are found to be eligible based on your CRS score, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). It is within 60 days you have to respond with all the information, and based on that IRCC will issue your Canada PR. The whole process is estimated to take around 6-10 months.
What if your CRS score is low for receiving the ITA?
If this happens, then following the below measures can improve your CRS score-
- Secure a job offer from any Canadian firm
- Reappear for your language test for a better outcome
- Secure under the PNP- Provincial Nominee Program
- Authenticate your educational qualifications and credentials
- Add work experience
A PNP nomination form will earn you a 600 CRS point benefitting you for Canada PR. Also, the Express Entry pool is valid for 12 months and if you haven’t received the ITA within it, you will need to create a new one.
What is the minimum CRS score for applicants?
The IRCC changes the score and requirements of the Express Entry draw as per its concern. There is no fixed minimum CRS score for applicants. On occasion, the score cut-off can be high or low. The candidate has to be eligible for Canada PR and for that, they have to qualify for a minimum CRS score.
