What is the minimum requirement to apply for Canada PR Visa?

The fastest and easiest way for Canada Immigration is to apply through the Express Entry Program. It takes an average of 6-8 months for its application. The Express Entry Program is a point-based program that manages the profiles of the applicants registered under the three streams of Canada`s economic immigration program.

  • Federal Skilled Workers
  • Federal Skilled Trades
  • Canadian Experience Class

Skilled immigrants who have work experience can apply for the Canada PR under the FSWP. They need to fulfil the following requirement to be eligible. They are as follows:

  • Language Skills- Applicants are required to score 6 per band in the IELTS test. Also, they need to clear the CLB- Canadian Language Benchmark and get a minimum level of 7 for one official language in all the four abilities- Reading, speaking, Writing, and Listening.
  • Work experience- A work experience of one year is out of ten years is required in the skill under NOC- National Occupation Classification.
  • Education Qualification- Candidates must have a minimum high school certificate matching the Canadian Education system. ECA- Education Credential Assessment is a legal authority that assesses the candidate`s education.
  • Age- Anyone who is of 18 years is eligible to apply for Canada PR Visa
  • Proof of funds- Candidates must show proof of funds which incline that they are financially stable to fend for themselves and their family members in Canada,

LANGUAGE SKILLS- 28 Points (maximum)

Canada has two official languages- English and French applicants have to be acknowledged in one or both of the languages in all four abilities – Speaking, Listening, Writing, and Reading. The 28 points are awarded in both languages.

The candidates must have a certificate or diploma from a secondary institution or post-secondary institution if they have pursued education from Canada.

Applicants who have pursued education from outside of Canada, they must have an ECA that verifies and validates the education as equivalent to the Canadian education system.

NOC is a list of occupations that are in high demand in the labour market of Canada and it is used to classify jobs. It displays the duties, responsibilities, skills of the designated jobs.

  • Minimum one year
  • Listed in the NOC occupation of skill-type A or B

ADAPTABILITY- 10 Points (maximum)

if the candidate has kin or relative residing in the country, it increases the chances of selection and points.
